These are my pictures from the trip Betsy and I took to Chihuahua Nov. 1-4 2008. This is the courtyard of our hotel, Hotel Jardin del Centro, which was located a few blocks from the cathedral in the Centro district.
The tricentennial light show at the Catedral. These pictures aren't that great; my little point-and-shoot doesn't do low light very well. But they give some idea. Here is a link to a time-lapse movie of it on YouTube. The music used in the video is excerpted from the music they use for the show. The combination of the 300-foot-tall imagery, the powerful music, and the smell of pan de nata wafting over the square is something to remember. This ran every night we were there, and every night, the square was full of young people, old people, and families enjoying it.
Outside Quinta Gameros (no photographs allowed inside). It's now a cultural center. Inside are some over-the-top art nouveau furniture and even whole rooms trimmed out in elaborate floral woodwork.
Santa Eulalia, a small town a few miles southeast of Chihuahua. It took us days to figure out where to catch the bus for this, but it was worth it. There are pieces of old mining equipment scattered all around the town.
